The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Psalm 28:7

Horsin' Around

The kids wanted me to share just how funny Ranger is!!

That horse was soooo happy to be in the water with the kids. He loves to play around and has a real good sense of humor for a horse.

Hannah would offer Ranger her flip flop and he would take it in his mouth and then splash the water with it.

The kids also would stand up and jump off his back into the river and he just looked so happy!

Henry has really trained his horse well and my kids love to be around him and ride him.

Cooling Off

Everyone was hot including the horse!

Communion & Agape Supper

We had a really nice communion service last evening followed by an agape supper to bring in the Sabbath!

This was the first agape supper the church here has ever done. I mentioned it at a church meeting a couple weeks back when it was discussed about the upcoming communion service and they wanted to do it.

Everyone brought something and it turned out very nice!
The communion service was very nice and such a blessed renewal with our Lord!

Please have a wonderful, restful Sabbath!

More Bees

I have a bees nest up on my roof!
They are building it on the edge of the metal roofing that covers a 10x10 portion of the roof.
They are pretty close when I have to do my laundry but so far seem to be non aggressive!

Hammock Finally!!

4 years ago while visiting Mexico we bought some hammock chairs. The kids love them and we used them a lot back home.

We have been waiting all this time to be able to use it......since we had to buy a drill bit and concrete bolts.

Finally, last Sunday Chris hung one of them up!
The second hammock will have to wait until we can afford rope or chain to hang it.

The kids were so happy to be swingin' in the hammock!

God With Us

A family member made reference to the inspiration text in 2 Kings on her fb page and it hit home for me.

If we could but see that God is with us and there for us even in times that seem impossible.

Nothing is impossible with God!

That has never been more evident in my life as since we came as missionaries here to Belize.

The Lord has taken care of us and provided for us and has helped us recognize and overcome satan's snares and attacks!

So thankful for that kind of eternal love!

Illness & Orange Juice

WE all have some cold virus!
Sore throat, stuffy/runny nose, fever, & cough.
A couple of the kids seem to be over the worst, while myself is feeling pretty miserable!
I should be resting or sleeping more but with 3 kids around that doesn't happen.
Funny when they felt their worst they were in bed quite a lot?
How come the mom seems to feel way worse and never gets the rest she needs?

On the positive side we have been drinking herbal teas, taking vitamins, immune system boosters, and drinking lots of freshly juiced oranges!
We juice the oranges and put it in the blender with ice cubes which turns it into a cold, creamy, frothy orange wonder!
The cold always feels good on the throat and I'm sure the vitamin C is helping too.
We are drinking this several times a day and none of us has had any side effects from drinking so much.

This morning I drank super hot herbal tea and followed it with super cold orange juice and my throat felt better.
I know that hot/cold treatments are good externally so I'm trying it on my throat internally!

Praying that we all get better!

Outside My Window

Just at dusk a little Gecko was crawling across the outside of my computer room window.

Youth Social

Fun times with the youth.

Games and dessert!

Youth Class Needs!

We had 19 youth in Sabbath school this past weekend.
We were missing several of our regular attendees so this class has really grown!!

The bad news is that the man that owns the pole barn next door wants money now; so we can have class 1 hour each Sabbath.

Well, we can't afford that so there was a church board meeting and it was voted that we will add on to our church somehow. We will extend it down from the little kids Sabbath school classroom.

There are some funds available but not much.
So we will go ahead with preparing and pouring a slab and then roofing that- so at first it will be like the pole barn we were using. Over time it will be walled in with windows and doors.

Please pray for this new church room for the youth.
We really need help with funds to be able to complete this before rainy season and to be able to finish it!

Praises To God

We are thanking and praising God for the miracles he has worked this past week for us!!

God has watched over us and provided every need we have!

Sometimes we can't see or understand how these things will be worked out; only God knows the end from the beginning.

So glad that another Sabbath is upon us and we can rest in Jesus!

~Sending out Sabbath greetings to all~

Thankyou for prayers and thankyou for caring about us!

Outside My Door

Last night I let the dogs out one last time late because Mindy is sick and not feeling good. She's been going to the bathroom much more!

Well, right out my door almost on my top step was this huge, ugly, creature!!

At first I was thinking it was comparable to 3 of my fists put together but then I had to up it to 4 fists!

I had to get a broom handle and chase it all the way down the steps.......yuck!

This picture doesn't really show how massive this ugly thing was.........each step I chased it down you could hear its heavy body thump, thump! I hope he/she doesn't return.

Mat's Thumb Update

Mat's thumb is healing well.

We have been monitoring his stitches and removed them one or two at a time. Where the most trauma was-that area still looked unhealed so we prolonged the stitches.

This past Monday was 2 weeks and he had four stitches left in and I just didn't think we should rush and pull them.

Yesterday afternoon we finally decided that they should come out. Well, Mat thought he would pull his own and did do one but he said it made him feel light headed.
Mommy pulled them out for him.

But I could quickly see that the stitches weren't really doing what was expected. The wound was healing from the inside out and yes it was a good thing that the stitches were holding it together.

So now we are using steri strips and bandaging it again to keep dirt out. There was a small area that was still open some.

Today Mat is trying to play his guitar again very carefully.
We are all very grateful that there is healing and no infection. Praise the Lord!

Monthly Immigration Office Visit

I guess I've never really shared about how we have to travel to the capitol once a month and renew our tourist visas.

This month it got a lot more painful because the price doubled! Ouch!!
I was grumbling to myself about it and I had to use some of our money set aside for the work permit to pay our visas today!
Then it struck me while waiting in line at the cashier that I should be thanking God that He provided a way for me to be able to pay the visas......and today was the deadline!

Only God!

That is how we have been here the past 7 months!!

Nothing else but God and those He has impressed to help us.......much thanks to those dear loved ones!

We are trying to work towards a volunteer work permit which would give us a full year of NOT PAYING monthly visas!

But everything takes time and/or they need one more thing and/or it takes more money which may not be available for a couple weeks. So our timeline is pushed past what we had intended.

I know God has a plan for us and He is taking care of us here in Belize!

Please visit www.faithfmbelize.com
See the ministry that brought us here......they are reaching many souls every day for the Lord and listen in live over the web!

God Bless!

Alaskan Family

My Brother sent me some updated pics of my niece and nephews.....
Still got lots of snow up in Alaska!

~Early Easter Morning~

We were up at 5:45am and loaded up in Pastor Bill's truck with garbage bags, latex gloves, a lawn mower, 2 shovels, boxes of books, bags of food, & 6 sleepy youth!

We arrived at the church and started picking up garbage, scooping stray dog poo, unpacking books, mowing grass, raking grass, sweeping the patio and entrance area, & also sweeping inside the church where we tracked.

Everyone pitched in and worked hard so we were finished in about an hour and 45 minutes!

Proud of the youth, some of whom have never raked or mowed before.....but that didn't stop them they jumped in and did their best.
Thank you youth!!

Our Savior's Sacrifice For Us

When Jesus, as He hung upon the cross, cried out, "It is finished," the rocks rent, the earth shook, and some of the graves were opened. When He arose a victor over death and the grave, while the earth was reeling and the glory of heaven shone around the sacred spot, many of the righteous dead, obedient to His call, came forth as witnesses that He had risen. Those favored, risen saints came forth glorified. They were chosen and holy ones of every age, from creation down even to the days of Christ. Thus while the Jewish leaders were seeking to conceal the fact of Christ's resurrection, God chose to bring up a company from their graves to testify that Jesus had risen, and to declare His glory.

The resurrection and ascension of our Lord is a sure evidence of the triumph of the saints of God over death and the grave, and a pledge that heaven is open to those who wash their robes of character and make them white in the blood of the Lamb. Jesus ascended to the Father as a representative of the human race, and God will bring those who reflect His image to behold and share with Him His glory.

The angels were waiting to welcome Jesus, as He ascended after His resurrection. The heavenly host longed to greet again their loved Commander, returned to them from the prison-house of death. Eagerly they pressed about Him as He entered the gates of heaven. But He waved them back. His heart was with the lonely, sorrowing band of disciples whom He had left upon Olivet. It is still with His struggling children on earth, who have the battle with the destroyer yet to wage. "Father," He says, "I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am."

Happy Sabbath!

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].
Isaiah 58:13-14

Kick The Can

The kids were out playing kick the can in the dark last night! The days have been sooooo hot that they haven't been really going out until the sun sets!
Last night they were out until 10pm and partly because its now spring break here too!!
The schools here get two weeks break and it always includes Easter Sunday.

More Fruit

The Jack fruits are just about ripe!!
I am excited to try them for the first time!
Everyone says they taste like a banana......but we shall see?

We've been eating what they call the caimito (not sure how to spell) fruit and its really good! The taste is a cross between the inside of a concord grape and a plum. I think I consumed at least 6 of those standing under the tree at the farm last Sabbath. You only eat the white inside and not the purple edge or skin! The purple edge will glue your lips shut!

These blossoms are for the mali apple fruit. I wasn't too crazy about the fruit before but I will try it again. The blossoms are amazing to look at and so bright!!

Mission Pool Update

Glad to report that we have raised almost half of the pool cost so far! I'm sure it will take us a good while longer to raise the rest but we will keep at it.
The hot weather sure prompts us forward and even if we don't get it this year, we very joyfully look forward to it next year!!!

Jungle Hike & River

We had a really nice hike through the jungle and down to the river last Sabbath!! We all had a great time and we didn't plan to be in the river but by the time we got there, we were all hot. So we dipped in the water in our clothes and had to wear them until we got home!

The first picture is of Terry's (Henry's mom) pet deer and herself. We found out bambi doesn't like strangers so she held him out of the way for us to pass.

I thought I would show you what our trail looked like and that was the better part. Most of the time there wasn't much of a trail. Henry went first with a machete in case of snakes!

This next picture is of Junior sliding down the muddy bank and falling into the river and taking poor Addy with him. She actually was pulled from behind him and slid past him and clear around to the front of him before she stopped.
Very Funny!!!

We got to enjoy some fresh fruit off their trees on the way back and they had boiled corn waiting for us when we got back to the house. YUM!

They do have cattle on their ranch and I've shown a previous picture of them. Poor Addy is terrified of them and whenever they come toward us; Addy starts to run!! This last weekend they started running to go around us and the next thing I know Addy was no longer behind but way up front. We all laugh and think its funny, because the cattle are more afraid of us and would never come close!

April Fool's!

Happy first day of April back home!!
I can't believe how time fly's?
